Calendar 2025
Last year’s Calendar has been a tremendous success, thanks to all of you.
The 2025 Calendar, named “Celestial Visitors” is even more impressive!
It consists of twelve plus one images of landscapes in Greece and the UAE, illuminated by the light of 150 billion stars. They were all taken during 2024, on various exploration journeys away from light pollution. They are printed in fine Art, 200gsm, matt paper, on dimensions 25cm x25cm that allow the image to be enjoyed from a distance as a framed art piece.
There is also a digital version for desktop screen background, available for large number of PCs (ideal for corporate offices).
The Calendar also provides information on Moon phases (Full and New Moons) and the most popular of Meteor Showers. Furthermore, the monthly sequence of images is purposely selected to follow the seasonal phases of the Milky Way, in which we often gaze towards either its barred core or its outward spiral arms.
The Milky Way galaxy is our celestial metropolis. As the Earth rotates, its distant objects cross our evening skies, refresh our humility and brighten our dreams. The earth, nature and human landscapes participate. And we need to just observe, awe, respect and protect.
This Calendar is a personal voyage on ‘a million star hotel’, hoping to share it with the world; both mentally and hopefully in person.
Once more, I would also like to thank the Emirates Astronomical Observatory for its constant support.
